The Des Moines International Airport (“DSM”) is 5 miles, or a 15-minute car ride, to the Community Choice Convention Center and nearby hotels.

Parking
Community Choice Convention Center
- Surface parking is available north of the Convention Center with entrances off of 5th Ave. or 3rd St.
- ADA accessible parking is available in the lot south of Crocker Street (885 5th Avenue)
- $12/day for cars and trucks; $48/day for RVs and buses (as of 2024)
- No overnight parking in these lots; your vehicle will be towed.
Street Parking
- Street parking is available around the Community Choice Convention Center
and downtown by using a nearby parking kiosk or through the ParkMobile parking app. - Pay attention to the time, rates, and restrictions.
- Typically, there is no parking between 4:00-6:00 a.m.
Parking Garages
- City parking garages are located throughout downtown with convenient skywalk access to the Convention Center.
- The closest city parking garage is 555 5th Ave. and is connected to the skywalk system.
- The cost varies depending on the garage.
Skywalk Map
The Des Moines skywalk system is 4.2 miles in length and connects 55 buildings and 12 parking ramps. Hours of operation are 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day of the week. It is enclosed and weather protected to assist with pedestrian friendly travel.
D-Line
The free D-Line Shuttle runs in a loop every 10 minutes from the Iowa State Capitol to Western Gateway Park. The Shuttle operates 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Running through the heart of downtown and the East Village, the D-Line provides access to restaurants, shopping and attractions, including Court Avenue and the Iowa Events Center.
