HISTORIC EAST VILLAGE

The Historic East Village, located just across the river from downtown, is a progressive, pedestrian friendly neighborhood featuring eclectic local flair. The East Village is a hub of activity with annual festivals, diverse nightlife scene, beautiful streetscapes, and restored historic properties.

INGERSOLL AVENUE

This street to the west of downtown is rich with character, small shops, public art, and a vibrant dining scene.

HISTORIC VALLEY JUNCTION

Historic Valley Junction, located in West Des Moines, is a charming, renovated railroad district with a collection of more than 120 retail businesses, including art galleries, antique shops, restaurants, and more.

JORDAN CREEK TOWN CENTER

Jordan Creek Town Center is a huge retail, dining, and entertainment development including an enclosed mall with 125 retailers, a movie theater, and restaurants.

OUTLETS OF DES MOINES

For those who like deals, Outlets of Des Moines in the suburb of Altoona features outlet stores, including some of the best names in fashion. It is conveniently located at the I-80 and US-65 interchange on the northeast side of the city.
