Conference FAQs
REGISTRATION
Do I still need to register since the conference is online?
Yes! To ensure the security and anonymity of each of us, we are requiring everyone to register. If you already registered for the in-person conference, you do NOT need to re-register. Everyone previously registered for the in-person conference is now considered a Virtual Registrant. Please encourage everyone to register online (at no cost).
I am trying to register but cannot login to my account from last year. What do I do?
This is caused by the email address you used last year coming up on the system, and it not allowing a duplicate email address to be used as a username. Please use the Forgot Password button and then look in your junk/spam folder. 9 times out of 10 that is where it ends up. We have had a problem with the Forgot Password button being unavailable. If this happens, you can use another email to create your account or send us an email at LogisticsIWC2021@gmail.com to arrange your registration to be handled over the phone.
How do I register more than one person at the same time?
Each person needs to be registered individually with a separate email address and password. If you want to register more than one person, just make sure that after you have paid for one registration, you log out of your account by using the logout feature on the top left of the page before creating a new account for the next woman. Otherwise, you may accidentally overwrite one registration over the other.
I want to add a souvenir but I already paid for my registration. How do I do that?
You may log back into your account at any time to add and pay for additional items to be added to your registration. You will only be charged for the additional items purchased. However, you will see your other items in your cart but they will be marked as paid and you will not be charged twice.
How do I request a refund?
Email logisticsiwc2021@gmail.com and let Ali know if you want a full refund or partial refund and if so, how much?
Can I contribute my registration fee back to the conference?
Yes! You may contribute any amount back to the conference. Email logisticsiwc2021@gmail.com and let us know what you wish to contribute, whether or not you would like any souvenirs, and the remaining amount will be refunded.
How will my contribution be used now that it is online?
Hosting an online conference is not free. Your contribution will be used to pay for Zoom Rooms, postage and marketing items, and planning fees, as well as other possible items such as production of tours, DJ’s, and more. Any money remaining will be distributed to future conferences, our GSO, Central/Intergroup Offices, and Areas.. Scholarship contributions will be forwarded to the 58th IWC hosted by Sante Fe in 2022.
HOTEL
Now that we are going online, will you cancel my hotel reservation?
No. You need to cancel your hotel reservation(s) since they are made independently in your name. The hotel page has the numbers for the former host hotel and the overflow hotel. Please call them directly to cancel your reservation.
EVENT
What is a Marathon Meeting?
Marathon Meetings are continuous back-to-back meetings from 10pm to 4am, Wednesday night through Sunday morning. Drop-in any time!
When will there be speakers?
We will have a speaker at 2pm on Thursday afternoon, speakers Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, and then wrapping us up on Sunday morning.
Can my friends just use my Zoom codes to log in?
Please have every person register so that they may be sent login information for the conference.
When will the conference schedule be posted on the website?
A broad outline of the schedule is online now. As we approach the conference date, a robust program will be available for attendees. A program with login information will be provided to each registrant immediately prior to the conference beginning.
What is the difference between a Panel and Workshop?
Panels usually consist of a particular topic with three to four speakers sharing their experience and is usually followed by a question and answer period. Workshops are designed to teach or introduce practical skills, techniques or ideas about a selected topic. All topics are AA related and personal experience is shared.
Can we purchase souvenirs during the conference?
Yes. A second order for souvenirs will be placed at the beginning of January 2021 to allow as many registrants as possible to have memorabilia of the very 1st Virtual IWC.
I want to be of service. Are you still using volunteers?
Wonderful! Yes! You can express your willingness to be of service on your registration or if you have already registered and want to reach out with a special skill, please email us directly at VolunteerIWC2021@gmail.com.
TECHNICAL ISSUES / ZOOM
I don’t like Zoom. I wanted to come to Charlotte. I am not happy with the decision to make the conference online.
We understand. We are disappointed that we will not be meeting face-to-face, too. However, we just could not safely nor responsibly make the decision to continue to meet in-person for this conference cycle. However, here are a couple of things to consider...Try this conference out. Just like in a face-to-face conference you can pick and choose your workshops and events and come and go as you please. We have some new features that we think you will love, too. You wanted to come to Charlotte? We’ll show you Charlotte! Join us on our virtual City Bus Tour. You will see it on the more comprehensive schedule when that is released. Lastly, our expectations are in direct proportion with our serenity so maybe understand that in this year of change we can protect our serenity while trying some new things.
Who do I contact if I am having technical issues?
Our Tech Team will be available to help out with any technical issues you may be having in accessing the conference. We will have information on how to connect with the Tech Team on the website closer to the date.
How will you protect my anonymity online?
Three ways: (1) All attendees must be registered to receive the access-based program; (2) All attendees must login with their name and location which matches their registration; and (3) Security volunteers will be charged with the responsibility of visiting the rooms to ensure online safety.
Will there be opportunities for fellowship?
Yes! As a unique feature of this conference, we are designing “Coffee House Corners” that emulate you and a friend or two being able to go to a table and sit and chat. We also are hosting a Hospitality Room that we are encouraging women to go to following a speaker meeting so that you can have time to chat with the speaker directly. There are more opportunities forthcoming so stay tuned!
